From Local Communities to Internationally Certified Professionals

As construction progresses at full pace, Lydian Armenia is preparing for the mine’s operational phase by investing in what matters most: people. Guided by our commitment to creating long-term opportunities for surrounding communities, we give priority to residents throughout our recruitment process and provide them with the skills needed to build successful careers in modern mining.

One of the key initiatives supporting this commitment is the Heavy Equipment Operator Training Programme. Today, 32 operators from the Amulsar surrounding communities have successfully completed the rigorous selection process and are already working on site. Another 60 local candidates are currently undergoing professional training, while during the operational phase more than 400 heavy equipment operators will be employed.

The programme is designed to meet the highest international standards. Participants complete medical, physical and psychological assessments, receive comprehensive theoretical instruction, and gain hands-on experience using world-class mining simulators under the guidance of experienced specialists from our partner, Mota-Engil. More than a training programme, this is an investment in people and in the future of the region. Upon successful completion, participants earn an internationally recognized certification, equipping them with professional qualifications that are valued well beyond the Amulsar Project.

By transforming local talent into internationally certified professionals, Lydian Armenia is creating sustainable employment opportunities while building the skilled workforce that will power the future of the Amulsar Mine.
