Building a Stronger Safety Culture: TapRooT® Training at Lydian Armenia

Even a minor incident in mining can lead to serious consequences for people, the environment, or operational processes. To prevent such incidents, it is important how well prepared a company’s workforce is.

Driven by its responsibility to its employees, surrounding communities, and other stakeholders, Lydian Armenia continues to strengthen the capabilities and skills of its workforce to help prevent and manage potential incidents.

As part of this commitment, several members of the company’s management team had the opportunity to participate in a training course on the TapRooT® international methodology for root cause analysis. TapRooT® is one of the leading methodologies for incident investigation and prevention. It helps identify not only what happened, but also why it happened and what actions are needed to prevent similar incidents from recurring.

The knowledge and tools employees gained through the training will contribute to the further strengthening of Lydian Armenia’s safety culture, the reduction of risks, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

The training was delivered by international expert Tom Di Giacomo, who has more than 40 years of experience in the oil and gas and energy sectors, having worked with global companies such as ExxonMobil, Texaco, and Saudi Aramco. For the past 17 years, he has been teaching and applying the TapRooT® methodology in major industrial organizations across various countries.
